GYRO 1.2 – What's New?

Global Key Lock

Keep Gyro locked to a musical key while browsing presets and exploring new ideas.

Select a root note and scale directly from Gyro’s header. Newly loaded presets and chord sets are automatically transposed and adapted around that selection, making it easier to explore new material within the musical context of an existing track.

Chordset Generator

The new Chordset Generator allows Gyro Pro users to create complete chord sets from their own harmonic input.

Select up to four chords and let Gyro generate a full chord set around them, combining their choices with additional harmonic suggestions. Generator presets provide immediate starting points, while custom input offers more control over the resulting progressions.

Undo / Redo

The ability to jump backward and forward makes Gyro’s randomization system more inviting to explore. Users can try and combine ideas more freely without worrying about losing a previous result.

‘All Sounds’ Play Mode

Play Gyro as one big stacked sound. ‘Play All Sounds’ is an additional keyboard input mode that bypasses Gyro’s chord and pattern play assistance. A single MIDI note triggers all four sound engines together, turning Gyro into a large, layered instrument that can be played directly from your keyboard

NKS Support

Gyro adds official support for Native Instruments’ NKS ecosystem. When Gyro is loaded through Komplete Kontrol or Maschine software, users can browse Gyro presets, control key parameters and use Light Guide integration with compatible NKS1 + NKS2 compatible NI Keyboards and other NKS-compatible hardware.

40 New Presets

Added 12 new full presets and 28 new sub-presets.

Fixes & Improvements

Reduced CPU When Sounds Are Muted

Muted sounds now stop consuming unnecessary CPU resources.

Pattern Slot & Speed Recall

The selected pattern slot and the header speed setting (1/2, x1, or x2) are now correctly restored with your DAW project.

Play Mode Persistence Across Presets

Play Mode is no longer recalled from individual presets. Your current Play Mode now stays active when browsing or loading presets.

Gyro 1.1

You can now load your own samples, turning Gyro into a creative sampler, and use Gyro as a MIDI generator to play alongside other instruments.

User Samples

Load your own samples into one or more layers and combine them with Gyro’s sequencing, chords, effects, and randomization tools.

Tonal sounds work especially well because Gyro automatically detects their pitch, while textures, noise, field recordings, and other non-tonal material can also be interesting in the Drone layer. Available in Gyro Pro.

MIDI Out

Use Gyro as a MIDI idea generator. Each sequencer lane can send MIDI on its own channel, allowing Gyro to play software instruments or external hardware alongside its internal sounds.

MIDI Out Channel Filter

For DAWs that cannot receive multi-channel MIDI directly from a plug-in, MIDI output can be restricted to a single sequencer lane or MIDI channel.

Chord + Pattern Locks

Lock your current chords, patterns, or both while browsing presets. Keep the musical idea you like while exploring different sounds.

New Sound Sources

Gyro 1.1 adds new factory sound material and expands the sonic palette available in both Play and Pro.

Gyro 1.0

The initial release of Gyro.

Gyro introduced a new way to create melodic loops and hooks in real time, combining four melodic sound layers, a Drone layer, chord and pattern sequencing, effects, randomization, and hands-on performance controls in a single instrument.
